CAN YOU COME UP WITH A BETTER WORD ?


This quiz will help you escape the "very" trap you fall into when you combine "very" with another word. You usually can say it just as easily with one word. See if you can boost your vocabulary by thinking of a one-word substitute for each of the following:

1. Very stupid

2. Very far

3. Very near 

4. Very large

5. Very hot

6. Very pretty

7. Very weak

8. Very small

9. Very strong

10. Very quiet


Note: If you come up with a one-word substitute that's not listed below, give yourself a point if you believe that the word qualifies.  We did not cite every possible substitute.
